The Road Not Taken(未涉之途)

                                                             -by Robert Frost(1874~1963)作

                                                                         -translated by Elsa L.譯

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood

And sorry I could not travel both                               (很遺憾地吾無法皆行)

And be one traveler, long I stood

And looked down one as far as I could                         (極目眺望其中一途)

To where it bent in the undergrowth

Then took the other, as just as fair

And having perhaps the better claim

Because it was grassy and wanted wear

Though as for that, the passing there                           (然以此言來往足跡)

Had worn them really about the same                          (磨踏二途不相上下)

And both that morning equally lay

In leaves no step had trodden black

Oh, I marked the first for another day!

Yet knowing how way leads on to way                           (然而深知道道相通)

I doubted if I should ever come back                          (懷疑是否有重返之日)

I shall be telling this with a sigh

Somewhere ages and ages hence:                                    (在許久許久後)

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,                    (樹林裡有兩條叉路,而我)

I took the one less traveled by,                             (選擇了足跡稀少的那條)

And that has made all the difference.
